"NWT 2012 stickers were green on white and NWT was printed on them.
When stocks of certain months ran low another order was placed and the manufacturer made a mistake by producing them in white on green without NWT.
The government decided to use them anyway.

Northwest Territories has stopped using expiry stickers.
These plates were seen in use June of 2014 with old stickers covered over

Northwest Territories plates ordered in 1970, but not sent until 35 years later.

Here's the story on the plates from Marsh,"These 2 plates were suppossed to be 1970, however, the Government forgot all about me, and finally sent them to me when I asked what happened to them after 35 years. Apparently, somebody inside the Government took the 1970 VE8NWT plate that was supposed to be mine for my amateur radio registration. The VE9NWT call was used for special Ham Radio New Year's message passed by myself to the Easten Arctic (now Nunavut) in behalf of HRH Queen Elizabeth, Prime Minister Truedeau and Commissioner Hodgson.
I am now licensed as VE6MP and Live In Andrew, Alberta. And sell plates for a hobby for past 2 years. Retired 72 years old.
